Clare Celeste Collages

I’m a sucker for a good collage and these beauties by Clare Celeste are spot on. Clare was born in Thailand but spent her childhood traveling Brazil, Italy, the US, Honduras and Argentina before settling in Germany. Her nomadic upbringing heavily inspires her eclectic work. Flowers, plants and gemstones combine with black and white photography to create these gorgeous pieces. All of the below are from her 2014 portfolio, but check out the rest of her incredible work here.

Stas Orlovski

LA based, Moldova born Stas Orlovski is an incredible artist, illustrator, painter and animator.

I’ve picked out a few of my favourite pieces; all beautiful albeit a little bit eerie. His website is a treasure trove of these gorgeous mixed-media designs, where he uses a combination of painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, and transfers to create his delicate pieces. Check the rest of his work out here.

Weeds: Mona Caron

“A tribute to the resilience of all those beings who no one made room for, were not part of the plan, and yet keep coming back, pushing through and rising up.”

That was the inspiration behind Swiss artist Mona Caron’s ongoing weeds project. She looks for weeds in the city streets near a wall that she’s about to paint. When she finds a particularly heroic one who found the most unlikely little spot to grow through, she paints it large-scale!

Check out her website for some amazing animations of her weeds ‘growing’.

Lina Scheynius – Photography

I wish I was Swedish. They’re all so effortlessly cool, stylish and blonde. Fuckers. I do realise that’s a bit of a generalisation. A bit like saying all Irish are drunk gingers. We kinda are though.

Anyway, here’s something else to add to my Scandi obsession; model-turned-photographer (see what I mean) Lina Scheynius. Her photos of beautiful girls, flora and fauna and gorgeous Swedish woodlands are dream-like and whimsical. Now London-based, she’s shot for magazines such as Vogue UK, Dazed & Confused, ELLE US and AnOther Magazine to name a few. She was snapped up by an agent after they came across her casual photos of her ex-boyfriend and friends on her Flickr and website. Her first ever job? A portrait of actress Charlotte Rampling for Dazed & Confused. Not bad at all.

Check out her incredible photography here.
